5.) What do you do to deal with stress?

I make sure that I am taking care of myself first. This can include exercising, eating quality food, getting more sleep, connecting with others or spending time outside. Then, I prioritize tasks. This helps me stay on track to make sure important items are getting completed.

7.) What’s your reason for watching your wellness?

Wellness is a lifelong journey. For me, this has looked different depending on the season of life. As I continue to age and distance myself from my competitive athletic days, it is important to me to be able to continue moving well, feeling energized, and have the best quality of life I can have.

8.) What inspires your nutrition choices?

At the core, health considerations inspire my nutrition choices. My nutrition is far from perfect, but I do my best to make good decisions most of the time.

9.) What are your goals for training?

My end goal for training is to continue to be mobile, functional and independent for as long as I possibly can. However, along the way, I want to continue to be able to do cool things, like play sports and lift heavy weights.

It sounds simple, but I do things I love to improve my mental health. I also believe there is a component of self-awareness of knowing when to step back, take time off, and recharge.

Nutrition, fitness, mental health, and financial health all interconnected when it comes to health and wellness. Each of these contributes to my overall resilience and vitality, which is important for living a balanced and prosperous life.
